Hirsch Performance to be sold in the U.S.
2011-01-12
Saab is looking to spruce up its U.S. market offerings. Saab Cars North America has partnered with Swiss tuner Hirsch Performance AG to provide aftermarket performance parts to be sold through selected U.S. dealers starting this spring. "Saab has had a long relationship with Hirsch in Europe and now we can offer performance enhancements for Saab customers' vehicles in the U.S.," said John Anderson, head of aftermarket sales at Saab Cars North America. The advantage for customers, Anderson explains, is that the performance parts are installed by authorized dealers and do not affect the warranty on the vehicle or its emissions ratings. The tuning offerings include a power boost of 30 bhp (22 kW) on the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 models for the 2.0 liter and 2.8 liter engines. Also on offer for those two models are wheels, a sport exhaust system, a performance spring set and a carbon fiber aerodynamic kit featuring a front splitter, rear diffuser and a 4-piece grille set. Hirsh Performance also provides a range of interior appointments for the 9-3 and 9-5 including a carbon instrument panel, aluminum pedals and a leather finish.
