Saab 9-4X Will Be Coming Out!
2010-07-09
During the tumultuous sale of Saab from General Motors to Spyker, product plans were left a little up in the air. While the new company said the 9-4X crossover would certainly be in the lineup, we learned today that indeed the 9-4X â€" the prototype â€" is coming, and it will be revealed later this year.
The news was part of a press release touting the company's newest ad campaign "Move Your Mind." The release also says that the Saab lineup will continue to be powered by turbo engines.
Most of Saab's recent car offerings featured turbos, but the GM-based 9-7X SUV was not. This likely means the 9-4X will receive one or both of the turbo engines to be offered in the redesigned 2010 9-5, which goes on sale next month. It will initially be offered with a 300-horsepower, 2.8-liter turbo V-6, followed by a 220-hp, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder.
